JAMES L. DONOHOE, age 73, of Ocean View, DE, formerly of Kennett Square, PA, passed away at his residence on Sunday, April 11, 2010, surrounded by his children. He was the husband of R. Colleen Welsh Donohoe who passed away in 2004, and with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Frances Mallory Donohoe. He was co-owner and Broker at Donohoe's Fresh Mushrooms in Avondale, PA. He also worked at Modern Mushroom Co. in Avondale, PA for a number of years. He retired in 2000. Jimmy was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Bethany Beach, DE, the Millville Fire Company and the VFW Honor Guard, Post 7234, Ocean View, DE. He enjoyed bird watching, working in the yard, early morning coffee with his friends on the Boardwalk and being with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by two sons, Stephen Donohoe of Kennett Square, PA and Robert Donohoe and his wife Karla of New Hope, PA; three daughters, Gail Phelan and her husband Edward of Selbyville, DE, Nancy Blakely and her husband Robert of Denton, MD and Leslie D'Annibale and her husband Joseph of McKinney, TX ; two brothers, Philip Donohoe of West Grove, PA and Joseph Donohoe of Hockessin, DE; two sisters, Helen Brown and Patricia Neely, both of West Grove, PA and eleven grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister, Rita D. Pannell and one brother, Gerald Donohoe. You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 7:00 to 9:00 Thursday evening, April 15, 2010 and again from 8:15 to 9:15 on Friday morning, April 16 at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA (Phone: 610-444-4157). His Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 on Friday morning, at St. Patrick's Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett, PA. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett Square, PA. In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read's Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720 or to the VFW Post 7234 Honor Guard, 29265 Marshy Hope Way, Ocean View, DE 19970 .
